My email list is growing at an exponential rate, and I wanted to share my success with you so that you too can get similar results.
I use a program called SendPress to manage my newsletter.
I chose this specifically because it’s a widget that integrates seamlessly with my WordPress account so that I can manage my entire site from my WordPress dashboard.
On the dashboard for this widget, it shows me how many of the emails I send actually get opened.
Its kind of depressing to see how many people don’t check their email address,or use a disposable address. Its also extraordinary how many robots there are that have their own email accounts.
Just so you know I don’t appreciate being treated like an unwanted date, who you give a fake phone number to.
So I erased the entire mailing list. That’s right I erased the whole thing, without a second thought.
And I fully intend to do it again, and again, here’s why.
#1 My time is valuable and,the way I figure it, if I’m not worth your time then you aren’t worth mine. If you don’t want to read my writing you have no business being on my list in the first place. I’m sure you’ll appreciate it the courtesy of having one less thing to fill your inbox.
#2 Human beings are smart, computers are not (for the time being). There are a lot of junk email addresses that are coming in, and nobody on the other end is even opening the emails any way. Any human being is smart enough to resubscribe, a computer is not.
#3 Quality over quantity. I would rather have a small active list, than a very large, mostly useless list.
#4 In only 4 days after doing this, my list has fully recovered, with as many subscribers as it had before the erasure, its more than twice as active as it was before, and it’s growing significantly faster than ever before.
#5 It costs money to send large numbers of emails, and it costs money to clean junk email addresses out of a list. By making my list exclusive,I solve both of those problems for free.
Part two of what allows my email list to grow really quickly is another widget I added. It’s called mini orange social login.
This allows your readers to login from a wide variety of social media platforms.
Between these two, I have an active and growing subscriber list, minus the junk.
If you want to try this yourself, I recommend saving a backup of your subscriber list, just in case you change your mind later.
Until next time —— Seeker
